About Us

Founded in 2018, Sisters Keeper is a nonprofit organization that is championing the fight against gender-based violence in the country first and later intends to expand beyond Uganda’s borders.

We help victims by offering professional counseling services, and advocacy, and in some cases, we try to provide medical assistance, especially for victims within the Mukono district.

At inception, our main focus was on universities and secondary schools as students are very vulnerable and yet not much is being done to provide necessary assistance.

However, along the way, we also began reaching out to communities mostly rural which have high prevalent numbers of gender-based violence.

We have been able to introduce the ‘KIGWALEERO CAMPAIGN’ (it ends today) – through which we have been able to reach out to numerous universities in the country like Ndejje University, Uganda Christian University Mukono, Buganda Royal Institute, as well as communities in Mukono, Jinja, and Mengo – carrying out activities like community outreach, sensitization and professional counseling services for victims.

We also provide free Counselling & Legal Aid for victims of Gender-Based Violence, and have an app to enable potential victims to reach out for help immediately when faced with a volatile situation.
